Frequently Asked Questions

What does it cost?

Private one-on-one sessions start at $10 (30 minutes), and small-group sessions start at $5 per person (30 minutes). There's also a $70 bundle you can mix across private and group hours. See the full pricing page for every rate.

What's the difference between private and group sessions?

A private session is one-on-one with your tutor — all the time and attention is yours. A group session is a small group of up to four students learning together at a lower per-person price. Group pricing is per person.

How does the $70 bundle work?

The bundle is a flexible credit worth 4 private hours or up to 8 group hours — 1 private hour equals 2 group hours, so you can mix and match. For example, you could use it as 4 private hours, as 8 group hours, or as 2 private hours plus 4 group hours.

Where and when do we meet?

We meet in a study room at the Mountain View Regional Library (3320 Sandy Plains Road, Marietta, GA 30066) on Saturdays from 3:00 to 6:00 pm. When you arrive, just text us and we'll meet you — if you're running up to 5 minutes late, text us and we'll do our best to still give you the full session. See the About page for more.

How do I book?

Head to the Book a Session page and fill out the short form — your name, subject, session type, length, and a few times that work. When you submit, we get your request right away and reply within 24 hours to confirm your time. Prefer email? You can always reach us at tutoringmagnet@gmail.com.

How is payment handled?

Payment is handled offline — you pay on arrival at your session, by cash or Apple Pay. There's nothing to pay online when you book.

What's the cancellation policy?

You can cancel anytime, though a heads-up at least 24 hours ahead is always appreciated. There's no charge if you miss a session. Since our tutors are students who only tutor a few hours a week, rescheduling may happen gradually — we'll work with you to find the next available slot.

What subjects do you cover?

We cover elementary and middle school core subjects plus high school math, science, English, social studies, and Spanish. Browse the Subjects page to see everything, and reach out if you don't see what you need.

Who are the tutors?

Our tutors are top students in Wheeler's prestigious Magnet program — peers who recently mastered the same material and love helping others get there. Meet them on the Tutors page.
